Free Event Lends Helping Hand to Househunters
Published on 24 October 2016
Many people believe that home ownership is ‘off limits’ according to Perthshire Solicitors Property Centre, which is hosting a free event this weekend, aimed at highlighting the financial help available to prospective home-buyers.
PSPC is holding the latest in series of ‘Help to Buy’ event within its South St Johns Place premises on Saturday 29 October 2016, between 10am and 1pm.
As well as highlighting the ‘Help to Buy (Scotland)’ initiative, staff from Perthshire’s leading property network will be explaining how other financial assistance schemes work. As well as representatives from banks and solicitor firms, local builders will also be on hand to showcase the homes they are building right now, which are eligible for the scheme.
Anne Begg, PSPC Manager said, “We still hear people saying that they can’t afford to buy a home, that it’s cheaper to rent and impossible to save up for a deposit, but they are quite often incorrect. This weekend, we will be explaining and simplifying how a number of financial assistance schemes can help people buy a property, while also highlighting some of the new builds taking shape right here, right now, in Perth and Perthshire which are eligible for these schemes.”
Mrs Begg added, “Looking back on the year so far, August was our best sales month, making the third quarter of the year, the Summer essentially, an excellent quarter overall. It’s also becoming the norm for properties to achieve their asking price and, due to there being a little less stock, properties which are ‘market-ready’ are often shifting much more quickly. We believe that this stability will continue in the weeks ahead so our advice, if you are looking to move into your new home by Christmas, is to act now. Autumn can be a beautiful season and a great time to showcase your current property in the best light, so get in touch without delay and we’ll help you get the ball rolling.”
