Scotland Rocks!

A local geology enthusiast will explain why ‘Scotland rocks!’ at Dundee Science Centre next week.

Colin MacLennan 1

Colin MacLennan, a Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Ambassador, will give a fun, interactive family talk and presentation to complement the Centre’s Dino Explorers exhibition, encompassing Dino Dig and Fossils & Funny Bones.

The latest ‘Meet the Expert’ event, which will take place from 2-3pm on Monday 4 May 2015, will explain what geology is, what the Earth is made of, with a tour of Scotland’s changing landscapes.  Visitors will learn about everything from the seabed to deserts and have the chance to ask questions.

Mr MacLennan, who has a Batchelor of Science Geosciences degree from the Open University, will bring rock samples, slides and maps to illustrate his passion for geology and the great outdoors.

The event is included as part of normal admission.

Dundee Science Centre is open daily from 10am-5pm. For further information, please telephone 01382 228800 or visit www.dundeesciencecentre.org.uk.
