Dundee Property Boss Appointed to Lead Chamber of Commerce

Tim Allan, Chief Executive of Unicorn Property Group was voted in at this week’s meeting of the Board of Directors and will take up the role immediately. The appointment is subject to ratification by Chamber members at the AGM due to be held on 28 August 2014.
Vice-President Alison Henderson warmly welcomed the decision. Speaking after the Board meeting, Alison said, “Tim has extensive business experience and a long track record of success in other Board positions, most recently as a Scotland Committee member with the Big Lottery Fund. He will bring energy, vision and strong leadership to the role at a very exciting time in the city region’s regeneration and development. The prospects are good for the Chamber’s future with Tim at the helm and the Board of Directors was delighted to back the appointment.”
Tim added, “The Chamber of Commerce provides a strong voice for business and I look forward to championing its crucial work, which benefits businesses of all sizes and sectors across Angus and Dundee. I will be working hard to ensure that the views of the business community are heard, to help grow membership throughout the region and to argue for an enterprise-friendly environment so that existing and new businesses can prosper”.
Also welcoming the announcement, Sandra Burke, Chief Executive said, “Tim’s appointment as President is great news. He’s an accomplished and astute entrepreneur who will provide a powerful voice for the business perspective and help us to develop an ever more relevant and representative Chamber of Commerce throughout Angus and Dundee. I keenly share that objective and am looking forward to working with Tim, the Board of Directors and our Chamber members as we forge ahead together”.
