The Centre, which will shortly commence a major refurbishment of its ground floor to improve accessibility, welcomed 10 local mums today to celebrate their new Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland sticker from Dundee Breast Buddies.

The Only Way is Up for Hong Kong Pilots

Four would-be pilots from Hong Kong have received their ‘wings’ after travelling all the way to Dundee for flying lessons.

Thomas Wong Kwan Ho and Raymond Liu Hoi Woi have completed the 20 hour scholarship while Patrick Chi Fung Cheung and Conrad Pak Yin Lee-Full have achieved their full, 45 hour Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL).

Training around 16 Hong Kong students each year, the Tayside Aviation students will now go on to pursue their commercial pilot’s licence which may lead them into one of the major airlines in Hong Kong.

Dundee Disabled Children’s Service Goes Full-Time Following Funding Boost

A Dundee drop-in centre, providing play services for disabled children, young people and their families, is stepping up a gear after receiving £125K funding from the Scottish Government.

The Yard, which opened in 2015, currently operates from temporary, shared premises at Rainbow House, Drumlanrig Place, offering creative and adventurous play for children and their siblings between 11am and 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

The grant, from the Aspiring Communities Fund, which is supported by the European Social Fund (ESF), will allow The Yard to increase from a two to five day service as of this Autumn.
