A national scheme, which has thrown a financial lifeline to many house-hunters, is enjoying increased take-up in Perthshire.
Now, local housebuilding firm Stephen is calling for the Help to Buy (Scotland) initiative to be extended after the Chancellor announced that the English equivalent would run until the end of the decade, instead of 2016 as initially planned.

Over 300 Fife school pupils took part in a solar celebration at the University of St Andrews today (Tuesday 18 March 2014).
Around 320 children from 10 schools joined Dundee Science Centre at the University of St Andrews to celebrate their learning in the ‘What’s out There? Explore our Amazing Universe!’ science and literacy project.
The Dundee Science Centre and Fife Cultural Trust project, delivered in collaboration with the University of St Andrews, has been running since January 2014. The initiative has included professional learning for teachers and visits to Dundee Science Centre for children, where they have had the opportunity to discover the wonders of our solar system and beyond, and enjoy some hands-on exploration of how we use invisible light to understand what’s out there.
