Cheers! Dundee Hogmanay Party Organisers Team up with Local Eaterie

The organisers of Dundee’s New Year city centre celebrations have teamed up with a local restaurant to provide a VIP experience just a stone’s throw from the event.

“It’s Happening!” Dundee Hogmanay 2019, a not-for-profit event, will see two days of music and family entertainment, with one of Britain’s best-loved bands Squeeze taking to the stage on Monday 30 December.

Meanwhile, Eddi Reader, headliner Kyle Falconer, rock pipe band Gleadhraich and Sinderins will treat the audience to a Hogmanay to remember.

Kickstarting the party on Monday 30 December, VIP ticket-holders can enjoy access to The Italian Grill until 3am, with a glass of Prosecco on arrival, Italian buffet and an exclusive bar. Guests can also enjoy the concert itself from either inside or outside the premises. VIP ticket-holders on Tuesday 31 December will enjoy the same benefits with extra bubbly for the bells and an additional buffet after midnight!

Organised by Dundee-based GMC Ventures Ltd and Edinburgh promoter Michael Ward of EH6 Festival, the celebrations have received support through Scotland’s Winter Festivals.

Jill Gibson from GMC Ventures said, “We’re really excited to be collaborating with The Italian Grill on this event. We were keen to give couples and groups of friends and family a unique chance to opt for something a little bit extra, and to enjoy the concert from inside, topped off by some fantastic food and drink. With ticket sales progressing well, and some brilliant new elements to the entertainment still to be revealed, excitement is definitely building for this long-awaited new year party!”

Martine, co-owner of The Italian Grill added, “We are delighted to be supporting and playing a role in the New Year celebrations in the city centre. This event is well overdue and gives Dundonians, and those from other towns and villages, the choice of attending a local event rather than having to travel to the likes of Edinburgh or Glasgow. The fact that the event is raising money for local charities gives an added incentive for us to be involved. It’s great working with Jill and her dad who have the drive and enthusiasm to make sure the event is a success!”

Any profits from the event will be split between three charities – Dundee Women’s Aid, Art Angel and Wellbeing Works.

Tay FM and Tay 2 are proud to be Official Partners for “It’s Happening!” Dundee Hogmanay 2019.

It is hoped that the event will attract audiences from outwith Dundee, with return buses available to Perth, St Andrews, Kirkcaldy, Brechin, Forfar and Arbroath.

Advance two day tickets are priced £70, with one night tickets costing £43.70. A VIP upgrade is an additional £28, with exclusive access to The Italian Grill, buffet, private bar and Prosecco.
