Cateran Yomp
Marching for Soldiers, Veterans and Families
As one of Scotland’s toughest endurance challenges, the Cateran Yomp is no mean feat.
Since 2021, I’ve been promoting this Army Benevolent Fund event which challenges hundreds of soldiers and civilians to trek 54 miles in 24 hours across some of the toughest terrain in Scotland.
Believe me, I’ve seen it as they reach the checkpoints and cross the finish line, this is a true test of grit, determination and physical fitness!
As well as meeting participants throughout the event weekend, it’s my job to tell their stories before and after, generating engaging local and national exposure proven to drive sign-ups, donations and sponsorship.
Services provided: media relations, crisis communications planning, strategy
"An important member of the Yomp team, Claire has thrown herself into the Yomp and helped drive our PR reach. She has been a breath of fresh air, suggesting new angles for stories and different ways we can gain traction in the media, even on weekends when charity events may not be the biggest story around! She galvanises the whole team to ensure everyone works together efficiently. Professional and personable, she puts anyone she is interviewing at ease. It’s wonderful to work with Claire on the Cateran Yomp!"
