Businesses Urged to Support Staff Through Menopause
17 October 2025
The profile of menopause has never been higher.
The UK is leading this life-changing movement while countless countries look on and follow our example.
But, before we imply the job is done, stigma and shame remain for many women, especially at work.
So, in 2024, Perth charity Menopause Café launched a Menopause Awareness Ribbon, encouraging employers to get on board and demonstrate their commitment to supporting their staff.
The ChallengeTasked with banging the drum across the country, I secured securing local and national news and feature coverage for the charity, including thought-leadership pieces in both The Scotsman and The Guardian, a Radio Scotland discussion and STV news piece.
Collaborating with businesses that were backing the campaign, I also crafted and distributed region-specific press releases, highlighting both the charity and participating organisations.
With World Menopause Awareness Day 2025 approaching, discussions are well underway to promote this year’s events.
The SolutionTogether, we succeeded in making serious noise around this important campaign, starting open discussions and everyday conversations in workplaces and homes across the country.
The Impact
“Claire did an outstanding job of publicising our charity and the ribbon campaign. Without her skills, hard work, and guidance, we wouldn’t have reached so many new people who hadn’t heard of Menopause Café before. Claire played a key role in making menopause a part of everyday conversation, our ultimate goal!”
