International Growth Drives Fife Textiles Company’s Turnover
Scott & Fyfe, the award-winning employee-owned manufacturer based in Tayport, Fife, has reported a 24% increase in turnover, with new figures showing a strong performance despite ongoing global uncertainty and cost pressures.
Founded in 1864 as a linen works, the company has evolved into a specialist in advanced technical textiles and high-performance materials. Today, its products are used across a range of global industries including agricultural products, automotive reinforcements, industrial backing materials and pipe relining, helping customers improve strength, durability and overall performance.

Accounts for the year ending 31 December 2025 show sales of more than £21M, up from £17M the previous year, with net profit reaching £2.34M. Cash balances rose from £2.72M to £3.05M, while net assets increased from £7.08M to £8.82M.
During the year, £780,000 was reinvested back into the business to improve efficiency, support product development and position the company for continued growth.
International markets remain key, with 94% of sales exported. The business saw strong growth across all major regions, including a 35.6% increase in North America, 20.8% growth in Europe, and a 33.6% rise across the UK and Scotland.
Alongside investment in equipment, facilities and technology at its Tayport site, the company has also continued to invest in its workforce. Employee numbers have grown over the year, with further recruitment across production, commercial and engineering teams, bringing the total to 105.

Training and development remain a priority, with programmes in place at all levels from practical, skills-based training through to leadership development. The company also continues its commitment to supporting its workforce and currently supports several apprenticeships across the business.
Michelle Quadrelli, Chief Executive Officer, said, “The year was characterised by continued market uncertainty, inflationary pressures and evolving customer demand across our global markets. Against this backdrop, we have delivered a strong financial performance, reflecting growth in international markets, targeted investment and the ongoing commitment of our employee shareholders. Our increase in sales is driven primarily by growth in international markets, particularly North America, alongside continued diversification across sectors and applications.”
She added, “Scott and Fyfe continue to operate in highly competitive international markets where sustained investment is required in technology, product development, quality, product performance, operational capability and service levels. During the year, progress in technical textile solutions and advanced materials supported growth in key regions while helping mitigate volatility in certain end markets. The Board remains focused on strengthening execution across the business, ensuring that investment decisions are aligned to long‑term value creation and improved operational performance.
Reflecting on the company’s employee-owned structure, she said:
“Our employee‑owned structure continues to be central to its long‑term success. While uncertainty remains across global markets, Scott and Fyfe is well positioned for the future. The last year has also seen us receive significant recognition in the form of several high-profile local and national business and industry awards. We could not do this without our team, and I would like to thank every one of my colleagues for their commitment and contribution throughout the year.”
